One of our loyal members, a nurse at Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital in Huntington, has passed away from symptoms of COVID-19.
Her death was announced with sorrow during the governor’s press conference today (Wednesday), both by Governor Justice and Bill Crouch, secretary of the DHHR. Samantha Crockett, UE 170 vice president and a fellow Bateman employee, said, “MMBH has lost a truly good person and an excellent nurse.”
Crouch said, “This was one of ours and we are just deeply saddened.”
In May, the union lost a member who was a health service worker at Sharpe Hospital in Weston.
