Union meets with top DHHR officials

Members of Local 170 were optimistic about a renewed effort toward cooperation at the state hospitals after a recent meeting with top DHHR officials.

Union members from Sharpe Hospital, Bateman Hospital and the John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center had a three-hour meeting with Shevona Lusk, Chief Operating Officer of the Office of Health Facilities; and Ginny Fitzwater, Director of Human Resources and Workforce Development.

The Union and the DHHR officials were able to resolve some ongoing issues. Respectfully Mrs. Lusk has agreed to meet with the Union in 30 days and to hold town-hall meetings at these facilities, and to keep open communications with our members, addressing concerns as they are presented.
