UE Local 170 sponsored a hotdog fundraiser at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg on September 3 to raise money for the facility's Veterans' Fund, which is used to pay for special activities for the veterans who reside at the facility. The fundraiser raised nearly $400.

UE Local 170 members volunteered throughout the day to prepare and serve the hotdog meals to the facility's employees during their lunch breaks. A special thanks to the UE Local 170 members who pitched in and helped out throughout the day, including Donna Morgan, Chris Wolford, Judy Russell, Cathy Riley, Sara Philips, and Brenda Circosta. Thanks also to Judy Russell's daughter Rhiannon, and grandson, Shea, who also helped out.

On Monday, September 22, UE Local 170 President Donna Morgan along with some of the local's members who work at the Veterans Nursing Facility, presented a check with all of the proceeds from the local's hotdog fundraiser to Clara Eaton, vice president of the Residents' Council, at the council's monthly meeting at the facility. The local plans on making this an annual event to show its support and appreciation for the veterans who have served our country.
