UE Local 170 will be having its first annual political action conference on Sunday, November 17 and Monday, November 18 in Charleston during the West Virginia Legislature's November interim meetings. The two day conference will help UE members sharpen their political action skills and advance the local's legislative agenda.

UE Political Action Director Chris Townsend will lead a workshop: How UE independent political action can build power for West Virginia public workers. Former West Virginia Delegate Bobbie Hatfield will also conduct a workshop: How a bill becomes law in West Virginia. Both workshops will be on Sunday, starting at 2 p.m. UE Local 170 will be providing dinner on Sunday evening for members attending the conference. The workshop and dinner will be held at the UE Local 170 union hall, located at 1591 Washington St. East, Charleston.

On Monday at 9 a.m., UE members will meet at the union hall before heading over to the Capitol for day of lobbying in support of the local's legislative agenda.
