UE Local 170 rank-and-file delegates from chapters around the state will be attending the seventh annual statewide convention on Saturday, September 14 at North Bend State Park.The statewide convention is the highest decision-making body of UE Local 170. Any UE Local 170 member in good standing can attend the statewide convention, but only delegates, nominated and elected by members of their chapter, can cast votes as per the UE Local 170 constitution.
 
Convention delegates will be nominating and electing the five statewide local officers - president, vice-president, recording secretary, financial secretary and chief steward - and three trustees for the coming year. Delegates will also be discussing and voting on the local's policies and legislative priorities for the coming year. Delegates and guests will be hearing reports from Bob Kingsley, UE Director of Organization, and Deb Gornall, UE Eastern Region President as well as local financial and organizing reports. The local will also be presenting the winner of the 2nd annual $1,000 John Hovis Scholarship.
 

All UE Local 170 members in good standing will be receiving the convention call and directions to North Bend State Park in the coming weeks. North Bend State Park is located at 202 North Bend State Park, Cairo, WV.
